History

Founder Paul H. Felts		 1934 - Established in 1934 by Paul H. Felts and his wife Rose. The Company was started as a hobby and operated part-time during those early years. Paul worked for the Chrysler Corporation and Felts Lock until Chryslers departure from Evansville in the 1950's. The lock shop continued to grow but remained a mom and pop operation until his death in 1973.

1973 - William L. Felts President entered the business after the death of his father in 1973. Previously an Industrial Engineer with a Canvas Manufacture. Native of Southern Indiana with no experience in the lock industry. Joining, him in the business was his wife Anita G. Felts Secretary/Treasurer. 

1994 - In 1994 William L. Felts, Bob Seymore, and Ron Pendley started Felts Alarm. Bob Seymore was appointed  the president.

1995 - William Felts purchased Elgee Sales and Service of Huntingburg. Moving the business to Jasper in December 1995 into a new building at 3561 Newton Street. David Chessor was appointed President and the name was changed to Felts Lock. 

1999 - William Felts purchased Gerding Lock and Safe and moved the business into a newly remodeled building at 10 SE 3rd St in Evansville Indiana. 

2003 - Felts Lock CO., INC of Huntingburg merged with Felts Lock CO., INC and operated as Felts Lock CO., INC.

2004 - Gerding Safe & Lock llc merged with Felts Lock CO., Inc and  operated as Felts Lock CO., INC.

2005 - David & April Chessor purchased Felts Lock CO., INC from William & Anita Felts.  Arthur Osborne who joined the company in 1985 was appointed Vice President.

In 2006 Felts Alarm CO., Inc merged with Felts Lock CO., Inc and the name was changed to Felts Lock & Alarm CO., Inc.
